SBRP President Dr. Armando “Boc” Bonifacio led other organizations in Dagupan City in conducting a relief effort last November 12, 2009 at the BHF Family Plaza Compound, Mayombo District, Dagupan City.  The project benefitted more than 400 victims of the recent typhoon “Pepeng” which caused the displacements of thousands of families and the destruction of billions of properties and agricultural crops in the province of Pangasinan.

The relief effort is joined by Archbishop Socrates Villegas of the archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan, who contributed 20 sacks of rice;  Pangasinan Medical Society – North Central Chapter and Caritas Dagupan for the free medical check-up and medicines and the Philippine Dermatological Society – North Luzon Chapter, which provided free treatment for skin diseases and disorders caused by floodwater. The UP College of Medicine Doctors simultaneously gave a lecture on Leptospirosis and Guidelines for Psychosocial Processing (PSP) for Disaster Survivors to 30 Barangay Health Workers.

Earlier, SBRP joined ABS-CBN’s “Sagip Kapamilya” disaster relief project for the victims of “Typhoon Ondoy.”  The twin projects is part of the program of SBRP in keeping with its social responsibility especially in times of calamities or catastrophes.
