The Samahang Bangko Rural Ng Pangasinan held its regular general membership meeting last March 25, 2009 at Star Plaza, Dagupan City.  Police Senior Supt. Percival Barba, PNP Provincial Director of Pangasinan and Northern Times Publisher and Executive Vice-President of Publishers Association of the Phils, Inc. (PAPI), Lelia Chua-Sy served as guest speakers.

Mrs. Sy, a magna cum laude of the University of Luzon and a former bank manager, profoundly explained the process involved in publication of foreclosed properties and how fees are computed based on legal rates.  She offered her free personal services to SBRP in case a member bank is uncertain on how much cost to pay.  The owner of Mega Printers also enlightened the audience on the manner of raffling publications to different newspapers.

On the other hand, P/Sr. Supt. Barba, briefed the members on the security conditions, measures and procedures being employed by the police authorities on banks in the province.  He also video presented a few of the resolved and on-going cases of hold-ups and robberies in the locality.  He reminded the members to install closed circuit televisions (CCTV) within the premises of the banks as deterrent if not a way to identify criminals and culprits in cases of burglary and robbery. He advised also members to increase the number of security guards or personnel to man their respective banks.

Members of the SBRP posed questions to the guest lecturers in the open forum and Pres. Boc Bonifacio presented tokens afterwards.
